[Inquest on Charles Marshall]

On Thursday afternoon an Inquest was held at the Champion, Goswell street road, on the body of Mr. Charles Marshall, aged 22 years, late a clerk in an extensive mercantile house in the City, who committed a most determined act of suicide on Tuesday night last, by shooting himself through the heart. The deceased was found by his brother, lying on his bed-room floor, bleeding, and a pistol, which had been recently discharged, was by his side. A letter was found in the deceased's hand-writing, imputing the cause of his destruction to some misconduct of a brother clerk, and to some defalcation in the accounts. He has been very desponding for some days. Verdict—Temporary Insanity.
