[Promise of Marriage]

A daughter of Mrs. Fisher, of Sherborne lane, having been seduced under a promise of marriage by a young married man, and learning he could not legally keep his word, resolved on self-destruction: she took poison and was a corpse in a few hours. A Coroner's inquest was held the next day, and a verdict of Insanity recorded, the Jury severely remarking on the heartlessness of the seducer.
