[Vauxhall, Distillery, Explosion]

On Tuesday, as an excise officer was engaged at the distillery of Messrs. Burnett, at Vauxhall, in placing the seal on one of the locks of a large still with a lighted candle, the flame, by some unaccountable means, communicated to the spirit, and a terrific explosion took place. Three men were injured by it, and were conveyed to the hospital. It is said that spirits to the amount of between 3000l. and 4000l. were lost on the occasion.
