The approach of Christmas has induced an increased demand for this celebrated code of instructions for the dinner and desert. Among the great variety of dishes for which receipts (nearly 5,000 in number) are to be found in his work, the experienced author has given a score of methods of cooking every joint, bird, fish, &c. all of which appear, on alphabetical reference, at a single glance.
