New Beer Shops.

The following resolutions relative to the new beer shops were adopted by the bench of Surrey magistrates at the late Easter sessions. Resolved unanimously, that it is the opinion of this Court that the Act of Parliament for licensing beer shops, allowing the liquor to be drunk on the premises, has been most injurious in its effects, as tending to demoralize the labouring classes, and inducing them to spend their earnings in those houses, instead of carrying them home for the support of their families
