Libel upon Mr. St. John Long.

Yesterday Mr. Chubb, the bookseller and publisher, of Holywell-street, Strand, was served with a notice of trial by Mr. Harmer, for a libel upon the above gentleman, published by him in a small publication a few months back, purporting to be the life of Mr. St. John Long; the title of which is as follows:—"The Life of John Driscall, self-styled Mr. John St. John Long, the Harley-street Quack, Physician Extraordinary to several Ladies of Distinction, with whom his universal Success obtained for him the Appellation of the Female Destroyer." The trial is to come on in the Common Pleas, on Wednesday next: the damages are laid at 2,000l. Mr. Chubb intends to defend himself in person
