On Thursday, Davis, the waterman of Whitehall-stairs, was finally examined, relative to the disappearance of Mr. Matthews, a clerk in the Comptroller's Office, the facts of which have already been fully given. There was no fresh evidence, but the friends of Mr. Matthews are of opinion that he has gone abroad. Davis was discharged.
