A Court of Aldermen was held on Tuesday, at which Mr. Alderman Cowan and John Pirie, Esq. the Sheriffs elect, gave the usual bond to take upon themselves the office on the 28th September next. Sir J. Shaw, Bart. was admitted and sworn into the office of Chamberlain; and Messrs. Lewis and Watson into the office of Bridge-masters for the year ensuing.
