Another Murder in Edinburgh

The Caledonian Mercury of the 3d inst. contains an account of a murder perpetrated on an elderly widow named Matty? Geddes, residing near Old Cramond-bridge, within a few miles of Edinburgh, on the previous day. It was committed by a vagrant at noon day, who entered the house and beat out her brains with a spade. The number of murders lately committed in and about Edinburgh has been alarmingly great. On Friday, James Gow and Thames Beveridge were executed in Edinburgh for the murder of their wives.
