Extensive Robbery.

On Tuesday William Husband, who is employed by Messrs. Harvey, Brand, and Co. Friday-street, Cheapside, was charged before Mr. Alderman Copeland with stealing a quantity of rich silks, scarfs, handkerchiefs, and veils, to the value of between 50l. and 60l., the property of his employers. Some handkerchiefs were offered for sale at Messrs. Leif, Copeland, and Co. in Watling-street, at a very low price, by a young man, and suspicions were excited. Inquiries then took place, and it was ascertained they had been obtained from the prisoner, who, on being questioned, admitted having taken various valuable articles.—The prisoner was committed for trial.
