Monument of George III

A general meeting of the subscribers to this undertaking took place on Friday at the Thatched-house Tavern, St. James's-street. Lord Kenyon in the chair. It was resolved that, as the subscription was insufficient to carry the original design into effect, amounting to only 3,000l., it was the opinion of the meeting that a committee be appointed to carry the design into effect in a manner as suitable to the occasion as the funds will admit.
