City of London School, Milk Street, Cheapside, based upon an old endowment, of John Carpenter, town clerk, in the time of Henry VI, and established in 1837 for the sons of respectable persons between the ages of 7 and 15. Payments, £2 : 15s. per term, and three terms in the year. Income derived from pupils' fees, and to the extent of £900 per annum from endowment. Headmaster, Rev. G.F.W. Mortimer, D. D.
