Asylums and Grammar Schools

Highgate Grammar School, founded 1565. 40 scholars from Highgate, Hornsey, and Holloway, are educated free of charge. When admitted they must be 8 years old, be able to read and write, and acquainted with the first two rules of arithmetic.

Income about £1,500 per annum. Exhibitions of £50 per annum for four years.
