With its renowned hospitality, great vacation beaches, superb hotels and easy travel arrangements, Thailand attracts more visitors each year than any other country in SE Asia. So, if you are planning on a Thailand vacation, here are some hotel and travel tips:

Bangkok is usually the first place people see in Thailand. This vast metropolis of ten million people is literally teeming with things to see and do - from a visit to the Grand Temple to having a luxurious spa treatment. Bangkok also has an abundance of hotels, from the backpackers spot around Ko San Road to the 5-star hotels found in the central business district that always feature among the world's best.

These days, with both a monorail and underground metro system, traveling around Bangkok has never been easier - there's even the traditional tuck-tuck to guide you around!

Chiang Mai is Thailand's second city and set among a superb mountain backdrop. As with the rest of Thailand, Chiang Mai has numerous (over 300) temples tourist can easily visit. Hotels in Chiang Mai cater for all types of travelers with places to stay if you are backpacker or business traveler. Visitors to Chiang Mai can fly here from Bangkok or alternatively you can take the train to Chiang Mai from Bangkok - and enjoy seeing the scenic countryside of Thailand pass you by on the way.

Ayuthaya is Thailand's old capital and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This magnificent town can easily be reached from Bangkok and one of the most pleasant ways to do this is with a tour bus to Ayuthaya, a look around the great town, and then a riverboat dinner cruise back to Bangkok.

Phuket is Thailand's largest and most populous island resort. For those of you interested in an activity based holiday, Phuket Thailand is definitely a must with everything from scuba-diving to golf available.

Kanchanburi is famous the world over for its "Bridge Over The River Kwai". Locally Kanchanburi is also well know for its superb food and is a very relaxing place to escape to not too far from Bangkok. Anyone wanting to visit Kanchanburi can either go by train or by bus. While in Kanchanburi you may want to take a long-tail boat ride along the river from the famous bridge - great fun!

Ko Samui is one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand. The island is populated with lots of coconut plantations and palm-fringed beaches that allows travelers to the island to kick-back and relaxed as if they were in heaven itself.

No matter where you go or stay in Thailand, Thailand has fantastic architecture, 60 million very friendly people all willing to help (this is, after all, the "Land of Smiles"!), very inexpensive shopping and plenty of amenities.
