Aged Poor Society

Aged Poor Society, Brook Green, Hammersmith, established 1699. For allowing pensions to about 70 poor persons professing the Roman Catholic faith; in addition to a pension of 3s, or 4s. a week, an allowance of coals, meat, and bread is given at Christmas.

The general average of income is from 500 to 600, last year 860, entirely dependent on voluntary contributions, with the exception of individuals on a small amount of stock.

In connexion with the society, almshouses have been built at Brook Green, Hammersmith.
