Aged Poor Society

Aged Poor Society, Brook Green, Hammersmith, established 1699. For allowing pensions to about 70 poor persons professing the Roman Catholic faith; in addition to a pension of 3s, or 4s. a week, an allowance of coals, meat, and bread is given at Christmas.

The general average of income is from £500 to £600, last year £860, entirely dependent on voluntary contributions, with the exception of individuals on a small amount of stock.

In connexion with the society, almshouses have been built at Brook Green, Hammersmith.
