Source: The Illustrated London News, August 6, 1864, p.139

A cricket-match between Surrey and Notts was played at the Trent-bridge ground, Nottingham, on Thursday and Friday, last week, Surrey winning, with one wicket to go down. Nottinghamshire scored 107 and 81; Surrey, 127 and 63.—Middlesex played the Marylebone Club and Ground, on Monday and Tuesday, on the Middlesex ground, Islington, and a more one-sided affair could hardly be imagined, the county winning in one innings, with 232 runs over. Middlesex scored 411; Marylebone, 93 and 86.— At the Surrey ground, Kennington-oval, on Wednesday, the match between Surrey and Yorkshire was brought to a close, the former being victorious by sixty runs. Surrey scored 143 and 157; Yorkshire, 100 and 140.—The match between All England and Harrogate was brought to a close on Wednesday, Harrogate winning, with five wickets to fall.
