At the Agricultural Hall, Islington, there is an excellent exhibition of domestic labour-saving appliances and articles for the promotion of household thrift. A deeply interesting spectacle is to be witnessed. Blind men and women from the Institution of the Association for the Welfare of the Blind, in Bernersstreet, are there chopping fire-wood, making brushes, brooms, baskets, sash-lines, &c. This institution was founded by Miss Gilbert, the blind daughter of the late Bishop of Chichester.
