A Roman Catholic church, dedicated to St. Cuthbert, was opened at Ushaw College, Durham, by Monsignor Archbishop Eyre, of Glasgow, in the presence of the Catholic Bishops of Salford, Middlesbrough, Northampton, and Argyll and the Isle. It will be the largest Catholic Collegiate Church in England, and will seat 400, the cost being £15,000.
