St. Katherine Cree Church, near the end of Leadenhall Street is dedicated to St.Katherine, an Holy Virgin of Alexandria, murder'd under Maxentius the Roman Emperor; and her Day is annually celebrated on November 25. This Parish contains about 360 Dwelling Houses. Morning Pr. on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Holy days at 10; Evening Pr. only on Saturdays at 3 in Winter, and 4 in Summer; Sac, first Sunday in the Month at 12; and annual Thanksgiving S. on Octob. 15. at 10 in Commemoration of Sir John Gayer, Knight, who gave 200 Pounds for this, in Memory of his Deliverance from the Paws of a Lion in Arabia.
