St. Alphage, near to Sion College by Cripplegate, dedicated to the Honour of St. Alphage, the Archbishop of Canterbury, who was stoned to Death by the Danes at Greenwich, about the Year 990; so to make him amends, his Memory is eterniz'd by Canonization, and his Festival falls on the 19th of April. This Parish contains 152 Houses. Morning Pr. on Wednesdays, Fridays, all Holy Days, and publick Days through the Year, at 11; extraodinary Lect. Jan. 30. Mar. 8. and Good Friday and an annual S. is preached here in Latin, by the President of Sion College, the Third Tuesday after Easter, at 11.
